How To Develop the Best Skills and Conditioning In Your Child To Allow Them To Excel In Soccer!

Ron Usher's Bio
I've been involved with kids and sports for most of my life. As a competitive swimmer and water polo player, I started teaching swimming during the summer while still in high school. From teaching lessons I graduated to coaching swimming. My career spanned age-group, high school, college and even masters. I've taught beginners and national champions. My academic background is extensive. I have a BA and MA in Kinesiology from San Jose State University. I have a single subject teaching credential in Physical Education and one for Adaptive Physical Education. I also hold a black belt in Shotokan Karate. Besides teaching and coaching aquatics, I've been a personal trainer, speaker and author. I've taught weight training, flexibility, bicycle and karate at a Foothill College in Los Altos, California. As a teacher I've taught sixth grade and coached the seventh grade soccer team. I've taught Emotionally Disturbed students with ADD and ADHD for two years. Currently I'm teaching Adaptive Physical Education to severely disabled children. I'm constantly searching for new ideas and techniques to help kids and athletes. I read everything from text books to web sites, and attend seminars and lectures, looking for cutting edge information. What I find is mostly for adults and elite level athletes. One of my strengths is to take ideas that are for adults and apply them to younger athletes. I present my ideas simply so that they are easy to follow. By using teaching techniques that emphasize fun, learning and social skills, I believe that children will continue to participate in fitness and athletics throughout their lives. The techniques are based on movement fundamentals, task analysis and are age appropriate. This develops strong, healthy and happy athletes. My philosophy is that all kids are athletes ...and should be throughout their lives. It is hoped that my "Build An Athlete" program helps parents and coaches give their athletes the necessary skills and fundamentals to participate in active and healthy lifestyle from five to ninety-five. Sincerely,
